Annual Returns soon to incur filing fee
By Hayes Knight - 16 July 2012
With the 2012 Annual Returns due it is quite timely that the Companies Office has chosen to introduce changes to their service fees.
The changes come after reports of funding deficits and it is
believed that the new fees will better reflect the true cost of
servicing users of the Companies Office registers.
One fee increase that will impact SMEs, rental property owners
and other organisations that follow a company trading
structure is filing a Company Annual Return. Currently this is
free, but from 1 August 2012 this service will cost $45
(including GST). Also included in this service fee are the levies
required to fund the Financial Markets Authority and the External
Reporting Board.
Hayes Knight file a number of Annual Returns on behalf of our
clients. Unfortunately we will need to incorporate this $45 fee for
any Annual Returns filed from 1 August 2012. For more information
on the fee changes please visit the Companies Office website or contact your
Hayes Knight
adviser.
