Working one-on-one with our team, you will leave better equipped to identify what you need to do to start doing now to prepare for succession, structure the succession deal and take your business to market.

Determine the state of the business

  • Understanding your succession options
  • Undertaking a business diagnostic:  What shape is your business in and where are the gaps?
  • Determining how much your business is worth. When is a valuation necessary?

 Develop a succession plan

  • Establishing the profile of your ideal purchaser / successor
  • Determining a timeframe for your succession plan to be implemented
  • Implementing a business improvement programme
  • Preparing the documentation necessary to make your business market ready

Structuring the succession deal

  • Putting your business on the market
  • Preparing an information memorandum
  • Enquiry management and assessment
  • Managing the settlement
  • Post settlement issues and opportunities

Your will also work through the "Readying your business for tomorrow" workbook and a due diligence checklist which will assess their succession readiness and kick-start your succession planning.

Investment without subsidy: $975 + GST for half day one-on-one training session. 
Investment with subsidy: As low as $487 + GST

This one-on-one training session has qualified for the NZTE Capability Development Voucher Scheme, and is eligible for voucher redemption. The Voucher Scheme is designed to support up to 50 percent of the cost of this service.

To be eligible for funding your business must:

  • have fewer than 50 full time employees
  • be operating in a commercial environment
  • be registered for GST in New Zealand,
  • be privately owned, or a Maori Trust or incorporation under the Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993 or similar organisation managing Maori assets under multiple ownership,
  • demonstrate a desire to innovate and grow
  • undergo an assessment with NZTE's regional business partner.
