Professional experience

Shelley-ann joined Nexia New Zealand (Auckland) in 2007 coming from Ernst & Young. Shelley-ann has specialised in the provision of tax consulting services for more than 20 years and prior to that she had 5 years’ experience in the provision of both audit and business advisory services with Arthur Andersen.

Her client base ranges from high-net-worth individuals, trusts and SMEs, through to large multinational companies and other professional accountancy firms.

Shelley-ann’s experience includes property transactions, international tax, international structuring, business acquisitions and disposals, GST and indirect taxes, tax compliance, IRD audits, tax affect accounting, due diligence, and analysis and dissemination of new tax legislation.

She regularly presents to other professional accountancy firms and groups to provide continuing education on current tax issues and to keep them up to date with legislative changes, including providing Quarterly Tax Updates to the New Zealand members of CPA Australia..

Shelley-ann has been a co-author of Thompson Reuters Tax Examples and Scenarios since 2008 and a co-author of Thompson Reuters’ Staples Tax Guide since 2022.
